A huge group of cobia inside a giant net cage in Liouciou, Taiwan, where I placed my lens dome port on a broken hole to get a full view of what's inside the cultivation system.

Oceanic net cage cultivation is a good way to reduce the stress of fishing demand on the ocean, which is much more environmental friendly than land based fishing cultivation.

因太平洋黑潮流至琉球嶼後分為兩股海琉環繞整座島嶼，加上潔淨的海域環境，相當適合進行箱網養殖。其中，成長快速的海鱺魚已成為箱網養殖的主要魚種，是眾所注目的養殖明星。

有別於一般挖掘漁塭再引進海水或地下水等傳統的漁業養殖，箱網養殖在現有的海域空間內架設網架、網、錨纜等固定系統，組成一個立體的養殖空間，用來養殖鹹水魚類，除去以往造成土壤鹽化及地層下陷等環保問題。

另外，海上的箱網如同人工浮魚礁也具有聚魚的效果，加上箱網養殖的殘餌會引誘野生魚覓食，提高海洋的生物生產力，對於培育漁業資源有相當的助益。
