八代灣沈船 @ 蘭嶼 八代灣荒原號沈船原來是一艘載了5,000多噸原木的韓國貨輪，一九八三年從日本出發前往新加坡。行經小蘭嶼附近海域因為氣候惡劣不慎觸礁。船底破洞後造成海水慢慢灌入船艙，船長一邊求救一邊將貨輪移至蘭嶼八代灣後沉沒於此，船上人員全部順利逃生。 荒原號躺在30至40米深的沙地，經過30多年，目前船身斷成三截，船上附著豐富的軟硬珊瑚，也吸引了各式的魚群定居，成為一個完整的生態系統。八代灣沈船是公認臺灣最棒的沉船潛點。 The underwater panorama photo comprising 10 images shows the magnificient Badai wreck. In 1983, the rough sea caused by a typhoon heavily damaged a Korean cargo ship near Lanyu, Taiwan. The ship was abandoned and finally sunk at 40 meters underwater in Badai bay. After more than 35 years, the wreck has turned into a wonderland for the sealife, which is also the most famous dive site in Lanyu.

烏龜怪方蟹 @ 台灣宜蘭 龜山島海底熱泉 龜山島是一座火山島嶼，地理環境十分特殊。島嶼旁圍繞著的一圈圈白色浪花，都帶有漂浮顆粒，這是海面下火山熱泉噴口持續噴發出的硫磺泉與海水沖激所形成的硫磺顆粒。而烏龜怪方蟹這該地區特有的物種則生活在海底火山高溫溫泉週邊，靠著吃被海底高熱噴泉燙死的浮游生物生活。 在水流轉弱、海流靜滯時，熱泉噴口的煙柱直接向上噴發，會殺死經過的有機體，這些浮游生物會像「飄雪」般落到海床，此時怪方蟹便會成群衝出來覓食；當海流一增強，噴口冒出的致命煙霧會跟著海流轉向，浮游生物也隨著消散，怪方蟹於是又躲回到硫磺礦的縫隙中。 照片背景中的氣泡，就是海底火山持續噴發出的熱泉。因為噴口附近是高酸度的熱泉，所以靠近的時候，臉都還會刺刺的(但更擔心相機壞掉..哈哈)...據說這裡是全世界唯一可以休閒潛水的海底火山，真的非常特別！ Highly acidified conditions due to the release of HCl and CO2 are a characteristic of most seafloor vent systems including the shallow-water hydrothermal vent system of Kueishan Island, off the coast of Taiwan. This shallow water hydrothermal vent system has been described as one of the most acidic vents in the world, discharging water with a high content of elemental sulfur particles, having temperatures ranging between 76 and 116°C and a minimum pH of 1.52. This challenging hydrothermal vent habitat is inhabited by Xenograpsus testudinatus, a crab species that is endemic to shallow-water vent systems. X. testudinatus is the only metazoan species found in the direct surroundings of the vents. These crabs have evolved a unique feeding behavior by feeding on dead zooplankton killed by the toxic vent discharges.
